Leaders make the difference between nonprofits trying to achieve their mission, or actually adding value to society. Effective leaders inspire the people in the various stakeholder groups to contribute to creating a vibrant, shared vision, while engaging staff, clients, donors, Board, and community members with compassion. They are authentic and mindful, and often playful. The key to outstanding leadership is a unique and somewhat rare combination of humility and drive, emotional and social intelligence, commitment and resonant relationships. This section of the newsletter will offer articles, stories of successful leaders, and actions to consider in being effective, becoming effective, or renewing yourself to maintain your effectiveness.
